Malaga, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Mihas- many famous places
on the aptly named Costa Del Sol with 325 sunshine days per year.
The Costa del Sol is situated between two lesser known
costas: Costa de la Luz and Costa Tropical. Formerly made up only of a series of small, quiet fishing settlements, the region
has been completely transformed during the latter part of the 20th century into a tourist destination of world renown.
It includes the city of Málaga, and the towns of Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella, San
Pedro de Alcántara, Estepona, Manilva, Vélez-Málaga, Rincon de la Victoria, Nerja, Torrox, the community
of Sotogrande, San Roque and La Línea de la Concepción.
Stroll through the streets grouped around Orange
Square and you will be joining with many people taking in the ambience, or go to Puerto Banus to see the luxury yachts
and sailboats at anchor, where up-market bars, cafes, clubs and gourmet restaurants are found aplenty.
Dinner tends
to be taken later in Spain and the clubs in PB are very light on people until at least 1am, then they rock through the
night until 7am.

Puerto Banus
Built in 1970 by a local property developer, Jose Banus, as a luxury
marina and shopping complex for the jet-set and the super rich.
The lavish opening of the complex in May 1970
was attended by many famous people including the Aga Khan, film director Roman Polanski, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, Dr.
Christian Barnard (pioneer of the heart transplant), and Prince Rainier and Princess Grace of Monaco. A young Julio Iglesias
provided the entertainment and an army of 300 waiters from Seville served a reputed 50 pounds of beluga caviar to the 1,700
plus guests.
The focal point of Puerto Banus is the marina with berths for 915 boats, ranging from 8 to 50 metres.
Behind the harbour lie streets filled with bars, boutiques, restaurants and nightclubs. A good time is guaranteed for
all and people watching is a major sport!
